Ode to Kapoho Bay

$145.00

Shallow kilnformed glass bowl

11” diameter x 2.25” deep

Kilauea erupted spectacularly on the Big Island of Hawaii in 2018 after the Pu’u O’o vent collapsed, causing a massive lava river to flow down the Lower East Rift Zone to the sea. It didn’t take long for fresh lava to consume beautiful Kapoho Bay, and the island shelf grew once again. Lava-orange glass and sea-blue glass mingle in this shallow bowl along with darker glass suggesting the cooling lava of the new shelf.
